Description

Internationally renowned director and playwright Richard Maxwell is currently a visiting artist with Duke Theater Studies (February 1-14, 2020). During his residency, he will create an installation in the Rubenstein Arts Center’s gallery where participants—comprised of student actors—will play members of staff in a working restaurant. The performance will involve Maxwell’s written text and a work-in-progress showing will occur at the end of his residency. Join Maxwell for a behind-the-scenes Ruby Friday presentation discussing his inspiration and the development of this work.
