Description

DukeCreate workshops are open to Duke students and staff of all skill levels and backgrounds and offer a perfect way to develop a new creative skill. Digital media workshops are in the Rubenstein Arts Center and presented in collaboration with the Innovation Co-Lab Roots Program. All other DukeCreate workshops are in the Arts Annex. All workshops are taught by Duke Faculty, local artists and professionals, and students in the MFA|EDA program.

This workshop covers the basics of sound recording for video. Topics include: digital recorders, mixing, issues and techniques regarding location sound, recording dialogue and interviews, recording ambient sound, types of microphones, post-production audio and sound design. This workshop is a continuation of the Backpack Filmmaker program which focused on video production. No experience or prerequisite is required. This class is helpful for beginners or videographers looking to improve audio skills.
